Statement of Purpose
Vision
Word to the Generations Church has the vision to be a life development church that is biblically based and Christ empowered. We desire to honor Christ by carrying out his command to make disciples of all people (MATT 28; 19-20) specifically, we believe God has caused us to focus on reaching those in the city (Brooksville, FL) and surrounding areas through our ministry. We also intend to multiply the ministry by being involving in church planning efforts, preparing leadership for Christian service and by becoming a resource center.
Mission
Word to the Generations Church exists to introduce, develop and empower people to faithfully follow Christ so that each person may fulfill their purpose in the church and the world.
Values
This statement of principles clarifies the attitudes and approaches that will be encouraged in the ministries of Word to the Generations Church. All principles are not biblical absolutes but represent our understanding of how to accomplish our purpose most effectively.
Commitment to Relevant Bible Exposition
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, the authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice for all Christians. Therefore, we committed to equipping Christians, through the preaching and of God’s word, to follow Christ in every sphere of life.
Commitment to Prayer
We believe that God desires his people to pray and that he hears and answers prayers. Therefore, the ministries and activities of this church will be characterized by reliance on prayer in their conception, planning, and execution.
Commitment To Lay Ministry
We believe that the primary responsibility of the leadership in the local church is to prepare God’s people for works of service. Therefore, the ministry of Word to the Generations Church will be placed in the hands of the membership. This will be accomplished through training opportunities and practices that encourage leadership, responsibility, and authority in various church ministries.
Commitment to Small Group
We are committed to small group ministry as one of the most effective means of building relationships, stimulating growth, and developing leaders.
Commitment to Qualitative and Quantitative Growth
We understand that growth should be measured in qualitative and quantitative ways. God desires us to reach as many people as possible with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we will pursue methods that facilitate numerical growth while maintaining our integrity and commitment to biblical truth.
Commitment To Excellence
We know that the God of our salvation deserves the best we have to offer. The Lord himself is a God of excellence. God gave heaven’s best gift to us in the person of Jesus Christ. Therefore, in the ministries and activities of Word to the Generations Church, we will seek to maintain a high level of excellence for the glory of God. This will be achieved by encouraging and training every person to exercise their spiritual gift(s) and talents.
Commitment To Creativity and Innovation
In today’s rapidly changing world, forms and methods must be continually evaluated and, if necessary, altered to fit new conditions. We will encourage creativity, innovation, flexibility, and adaptability without compromise. We will pursue methods that bring greater effectiveness in the ministry of Word to the Generations Church to reach the world for Christ.
